The asteroid was discovered in August 2024 and initially marked as potentially hazardous, but further analysis confirmed that it does not pose a threat to our planet, according to a study published in the journal AAS Research Notes (RNAAS).
The asteroid will be captured by Earth’s gravity and make a complete revolution around the planet in 53 days. It will begin its journey in late September and remain in Earth orbit until mid-November, after which it will head into deep space.
It is unknown what fate awaits him after this.
