There were almost no people among the respondents who preferred a non-monetary bonus. 99% of respondents said they were only interested in material rewards. 94% admitted that paying extra money helps them work harder and spend more time at work.

Many survey participants (60%) said that the amount of the bonus corresponds to their efforts. They cited violations (31%), failure to comply with the plan (19%) and absenteeism (16%) as fair reasons for deprivation of bonus payment.

40% of employees in Russian companies receive bonuses monthly, once a year (28%), once a quarter (26%), after a significant event (21%). In most cases (47% of respondents), employers distribute bonuses individually, in 27% of cases this happens collectively, in 26% both methods work.

The least popular types of incentives include certificates (24%), company-sponsored corporate events (23%), voluntary health insurance (21%), flexible hours (19%), and discounts on company products (15%).

Almost 8 out of 10 Russians say that they fully deserved the last bonus they received. Almost half say that they have been deprived of a bonus at some point. Most often this happened due to financial difficulties at the company (29%), failure to comply with the plan (21%), personal relationships (14%), long vacations or private sick leave (13%).

The study was conducted in September 2024, with 2,000 Russians aged 18 and over being surveyed via an online panel.
