Kommersant learned about the emergence of a new industrial association. Citing sources from the Association, the publication reports that the main tasks of the community will be the development of industry standards, game labeling and market regulation.

It will also be important to establish a “dialogue between industry and the state”, as media market experts believe that “current associations have not yet made any progress in solving this problem.”

According to SPARK-Interfax, since October 3, the officially registered position of director of the AII has been held by former deputy director for development of the Digital Economy of ANO, Vladimir Prokuronov. The legal entity itself has existed since 2020, but all data about the founders is hidden.

So far, it is known for sure about two AAI participants: Lesta Games (games “World of Tanks”, “World of Ships”) and 1C Game Studios (online shooter “Caliber”, “Tales of Old Rus”). But “in the future it is planned to include other Russian developers in its composition.”

It is also assumed that existing organizations can become part of the IIA. For example, APRIORI (Association of Game Operation and Development Industry Professionals), which includes VK Play, Astrum Entertainment, United Games, etc.

The Association for the Development of Cybersports Infrastructure (True Gamers, Colizeum, CyberX), RADI Video Games” (DNS, “Achivka”, diHouse, EMSI, “Buka”, etc.) and the “Organization for the Development of Video Game Industry” by ANO, directed by the developer of the PvP.Tools platform, Vasily Ovchinnikov.

There are currently no uniform regulatory rules in the game development industry, just as there is no unified video game labeling system. According to one of the latest projects of the Ministry of Economy, the studios themselves would have to assign ratings to their products.

The Ministry of Digital Development is still developing its options to resolve the labeling issue. It is assumed that the new association could become a catalyst for making some decisions.
