The new MacBook Pros, which arrived in Russia a few weeks before Apple’s presentation, were intended for the American market, but were stolen from the factory. This was stated to TechInsider by the lead analyst of the mobile research group Eldar Murtazin.

Previously, several Russian bloggers, including the creator of the Wylsacom YouTube channel, Valentin Petukhov, said they had received an unreleased MacBook Pro model with an M4 processor. Petukhov showed off the laptop on video and tested the M4 chip in the GeekBench benchmark. Expert Mark Gurman, author of Bloomberg’s newsletter on new Apple products, called Wylsacom’s video “credible.”
According to Murtazin, this and other Apple laptops arrived in Russia through parallel imports. “They were stolen during delivery from the factory: a batch that is produced and shipped all over the world. This batch was destined for the US. Someone stole it from the factory and put it up for sale. Therefore, such a market also exists. In Russia it has always existed,” said the expert.
He added that this had already happened before, for example, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 8 smartphones also appeared in Russia long before the official announcements.
Murtazin noted that he does not consider the latest leak to be important, since these “are not that key devices.” [для Apple]talk about them with so much emotion.” However, according to the analyst, this suggests that the company “no longer controls anything like it did in the days of Steve Jobs.” “Jobs furiously pursued everyone who tried to leak something somewhere; They became personal enemies of Jobs. This is not like that now,” he emphasized.
According to Gurman, sales of new MacBooks with an updated processor will begin on November 1. Apple is expected to make an official presentation of the devices about a week before.
In early 2025, Apple, according to Bloomberg, plans to launch a new generation of iPhone SE, which will presumably lose the Home button and look like the iPhone 14.
