Year after year, the volume of Russians’ deposits in banks will increase by 27%, Gorshkov said at the Finopolis forum of innovative financial technologies. Russian rubles make up the majority of the deposit structure; By the end of 2024, its volume will exceed 52.6 trillion rubles.
The average size of a bank deposit of a VTB client in 2024 was 531 thousand rubles, a record amount for the past three years.
According to Gorshkov, the volume of retail loans in the fourth quarter of 2024 will decrease by 36% compared to the same period in 2023. The issuance of mortgages will be halved, to 1.2 trillion rubles, he stated.
At the end of 2024, Russian banks will be able to update the record for the volume of net profits received: the Central Bank expects the figure to be 3.6 trillion rubles, although in March the regulator made a forecast of 2.8 trillion rubles .
