We recently looked at iOS games that would look especially good on the new iPhone 16. And even then I started thinking: “What does the competitor have? They don’t have exclusive Resident Evil ports, for example.”.

This thought grew into the idea that became the title of this article. But I’ll make a reservation right away: it won’t be here fan PC ports, emulators and frequently mentioned games such as Call of Duty, Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact and PUBG.

We’ll go the other way and here are five great projects that look simply fantastic from the outside and are demanding on the “stuffing” of a smartphone:

1. Black Desert Mobile

Black Desert is considered one of the most beautiful MMORPGs for PC even at the moment.

What’s even better is that the mobile version is practically a PC port, carrying over all the major mechanical and visual effects.

Black Desert Mobile is a classic MMO adapted for mobile devices. It offers a huge open world and a wide variety of content for both PVE and PVP.

The graphics in the game are simply amazing, with detailed characters. All skills and abilities are accompanied by bright effects and animations that look simply amazing. The environment is also made to a high standard. Overall the game looks great and feels completely immersive. And the more powerful the hardware, the nicer everything looks and plays.

2. Dead by Daylight for mobile devices

Dead by Daylight Mobile is the mobile version of our multiplayer horror game where one player will play the role of the killer and the rest will play the role of the victim.

It is worth noting that this is an almost complete adaptation of the original game from the console to a mobile device.

Based on the screenshots, it may seem that the graphics of this game are on par, but there is a nuance: with an average picture (as on consoles, by the way), Dead by Daylight is quite demanding on hardware, and a budget or mid-budget smartphone will not be suitable for a comfortable game. And it’s worth it, because, by and large, this is still the same exciting session in miniature with a variety of playing styles and a great emphasis on cooperation.

Only, unlike PCs and consoles, the game is free on mobile devices.

3. Alien isolation

Unfortunately, there are no versions of Resident Evil and Death Stranding on Android yet, but one of the best games in the Alien universe is available here – Alien Isolation. And now it has become especially relevant, because recently a new film about “Aliens” was released in cinemas, which was largely inspired by Alien Isolation.

In addition, in the wake of the success of Alien: Romulus, the developers have already announced plans to create a sequel to Alien Isolation.

I don’t see the point in talking about the game for a long time, since I have already mentioned Alien Isolation several times in various materials on this site. However, I want to counter its biggest strength: it’s an atmospheric and tense survival horror that looks great visually.

Even smartphones can boast good graphics, although to achieve the maximum level of quality, progress with console games, you will need powerful devices.

4. Thunder waves

At the beginning of the material, I promised to agree without games from the company MihoYo (or HoYoverse, whichever suits you), but who said that I wouldn’t mention the most beautiful clone of Genshin Impact?

So, I mention it.

So what are Thunder Waves? This is an exciting open-world RPG where you connect vast areas, interact with a variety of enemies and mini-bosses, collect resources, solve puzzles and complete exciting mini-quests.

The game’s combat uses equipment from Nier Automata and Stellar Blade, which are significantly superior to those in Genshin. Visually, the fights compare with colorful effects, which makes them even more impressive.

The game world itself also has its own development solution: it is large, dark and filled with many details. However, to fully enjoy its brilliance and avoid frame rate drops, you will need a powerful device.

5. Fortnite

Fortnite is an outstanding phenomenal game. Originally conceived as a tower-defense concept with zombie attributes and an additional battle royale mode, which was later added to take advantage of the increasingly popular PUBG, it has grown into one of the most popular gaming services in the industry.

Millions of players eagerly await each new season of major updates that come out once a year and change the game so much that they can be compared to full-fledged sequels.

The release of the mobile version of Fortnite caused one of the biggest scandals in the industry. The cobb process, which pitted Epic Games against many companies, was followed around the world. As a result of this action, the boundaries of the closedness of the Apple ecosystem were shifted.

But I digress. First and foremost, Fortnite is a third-person shooter with many modes and mechanics. The game features not only a battle royale, but also many other exciting phenomena. The version for smartphones is currently no different from the console and computer versions, including graphics and game engine. The game places high demands on hardware and runs well only on the most powerful processors.

You will need really powerful hardware

It seems like I already wrote this once, but still: the pace of development of the mobile gaming industry scares me. I was once sure that for full-fledged gaming in your pocket you still definitely needed a portable console.

But, by and large, smartphones have long been considered a full-fledged part of the portable gaming market. Whether we like it or not.

It is with this thought that I voice you. Have a good day!
