Employees of MISIS University and the Healthcare Institution Research Institute have developed a new application called TeleRehab, which will assist doctors in the recovery of patients after stroke. The program uses algorithms and artificial intelligence to create personalized telerehabilitation recommendations. This is especially important because many doctors may not be up to date on the latest treatments due to high workloads and rapid advances in technology.
According to Alexander Nikolaev, associate professor at MISIS University and one of the co-authors of the development, the aim of the application is to facilitate the work of doctors and reduce the risk of errors in rehabilitation. With the help of TeleRehab, doctors will be able to receive recommendations regarding remote therapy, as well as the technical tools and programs necessary for its implementation. To accurately prescribe treatment, the application includes the results of special medical tests such as the Fugle-Meyer scale or the Romberg test, which helps the system offer individual treatment plans.
Additionally, the app allows healthcare institutions to analyze data in electronic medical records and send real-time recommendations to doctors. This not only reduces the workload of specialists, but also increases the time they can devote to other patients. As the developers assure, TeleRehab can be adapted to the needs of specific institutions in the future and easily integrated into information systems.
