In the third quarter of 2024, the volume of transactions through the Faster Payment System (FPS) reached 19.8 trillion rubles, twice as much as in the same period last year. This is reported in the materials of the Bank of Russia.

The number of transactions through the SBP reached 3.6 billion. The average bill for transactions was 1.8 thousand rubles. The share of purchases of goods and services in the total volume of payments through the SBP was 27%.

On average, 39 million transactions were carried out per day, the maximum number reached 50 million. Transfers through the SBP are in demand among seven out of ten Russians, 40% use this method to pay for goods and services. On average, a person made 26 transfers in the third quarter of the year and paid for 15 purchases through the SBP.

Transfers through the SBP increased by 12% compared to the second quarter, the average amount increased by almost a third and reached 6.9 thousand rubles. 2.5 billion transfers worth 17.7 trillion rubles were made.

The number of commercial and service companies accepting payments through SBP grew by 13% during the quarter, exceeding 2 million. The number of SMEs in SBP reached 1.7 million, or 26% of the total number of small and medium enterprises.

  • In early October, the National Payment Card System completed the implementation of a universal QR code on the SBP network. It is currently used by 207 banks and more than 4.8 million points of sale connected to the system.
  • Starting November 1, 2024, banks in Russia will not be able to charge citizens a commission for transfers in favor of the State (C2G payments) through the SBP.
  • At the end of July, the Bank of Russia allowed the transfer of 30 million rubles in a single transaction. Since May 1, in Russia it has been possible to transfer up to 30 million rubles per month to other banks without commission, but credit institutions independently set a limit of 1 million rubles for a single transfer.
