The upcoming shooter STALKER 2 from the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World may be banned in Russia, as stated by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Anton Gorelkin.

This may be due to reasons: due to donations to the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the developers and possible extremist content within the game.

I believe that STALKER 2: The Heart of Chernobyl has every chance of being officially banned in Russia. I don’t think, however, that this happened solely based on the fact that the video game developers used an APU. But I do not observe that if, after its release, illegal information is used in the game content (extremism, justification of terrorism, incitement of ethnic hatred, etc.), the most severe measures will be taken.

Lawyer and human rights activist Mikhail Mushailov warned that even buyers of video games could face criminal penalties if their creators use Ukrainian soldiers. [Daily Storm]
