“Users will no longer be able to send or receive email using Windows Mail and Calendar. “All local emails, calendar events, and contacts saved in Mail, Calendar, and People will remain available for export,” the announcement said.

Microsoft also recommended switching to the new version of Outlook, since, unlike the previous one, it has advantages, including support for artificial intelligence, which will help in writing messages. To switch, you need to click the “Try new Outlook” button in the top right corner in Mail, Calendar, or classic Outlook.

If they wish, users can revert to the previous version of the service without losing data, the company added.

Microsoft previously announced that the updated Outlook can now create themes based on the Copilot generative AI assistant. The feature is available to Copilot Pro subscribers and business account holders with Copilot enabled.
