This feature currently only supports 2D content, and up to eight people can attend an event. In order to join or create a room, participants must mutually follow each other. For convenience, two modes are provided: fully immersive VR and mixed reality (MR), in which virtual content is superimposed on the user’s real environment.

This update brings YouTube VR closer to the co-viewing experiences offered by apps like VRChat and BigScreen. But experts say that, unlike the more advanced functions of other applications, the YouTube interface is still quite simple, without settings for virtual spaces. This feature is available in all regions where *Meta Quest and YouTube VR are supported.
