“What is important to note: the basis of the massive attacks is that the personal data of all Russians has already been leaked. If we go to the dark web, then there is information about each of us, consolidated by Ukrainian special services or hackers. I’m on my own [даже] he asked,” Oseevsky said.
He highlighted that the current situation creates an opportunity for “various forms of penetration into our lives.”
Previously, the deputy chairman of the board of directors of Sberbank, Stanislav Kuznetsov, said that as a result of the leaks, the personal data of about 90% of Russians became public. The bank’s specialists reached this conclusion after analyzing the leaks corresponding to 2023 and early 2024.
In November, Forbes learned that the State Duma plans to increase the minimum turnover penalty for companies for repeated information leaks from 0.1% to 1% of annual revenue. This measure is contained in the new version of the corresponding bill, which is being prepared for second reading.
In mid-October it became known that the Rostelecom GC Solar structure bought 100% of the cybersecurity auditor Digital Security. The purchase will allow “to gather one of the largest teams of specialists in the field of pentesting (penetration security testing) in Russia” to implement “large-scale projects, including the development of new ecosystem solutions,” Solar said.
