The creation of Russian basic 5G solutions until 2030 will cost 16.84 billion rubles, Kommersant reports, citing the international edition of the federal project “Domestic Solutions,” which is part of the national project “Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State.”
Of this amount, 8.2 billion rubles will be allocated from the federal budget. Funding is distributed as follows:
▶︎ KNS Group (Yadro brand, part of ICS Holding) will receive 5.6 billion rubles.
▶︎ 2.6 billion rubles were bought by the Irtea company (50% owned by MTS).
Both companies plan to release base stations operating in 2G/4G/5G standards.
Yadro stated that forward contracts have been concluded for the supply of 55 thousand basic works until 2030. Irtea plans to reach a stable production of 30 thousand basic modes annually.
MegaFon announced that it had entered into an agreement with Yadro and Bulat (51% owned by Rostelecom). In accordance with these agreements, equipment is being tested in laboratory conditions, and field testing is planned for next year.
MTS will use Irtea’s base stations. By 2030, it is planned to receive at least 20 thousand LTE devices. [Коммерсантъ]
