The Butcher Shop offers semi-finished meat products, sausages, cheeses, salads, main dishes, sandwiches, vegetables, fruits, herbs, dairy products and other products. When placing an order in Yandex Food in the Verny window, the delivery time is indicated as 35-45 minutes, and in Myasnaya Lavka to the same address – 120-150 minutes, the publication notes.
The minimum order amount at Myasnaya Lavka is 3.5 thousand rubles; The cost of the same products also differs, for example, in “Verny”, a package of Lambert cheese weighing 500 g costs 576 rubles (with a discount of 8%), “Rublevsky” ham costs 237 rubles (with a discount 41%), in the “Myasnoy” store – 550 rubles and 230 rubles, respectively, with the same discounts.
Infoline-Analytics CEO Mikhail Burmistrov called the price difference negligible and suggested that Verny is testing selling products for future use with longer deliveries, lower costs and higher check amounts.
The expert admitted that the new brand is used so that consumers do not perceive this as a change in Verny’s pricing policy. The long delivery times are probably due to the fact that it is carried out selectively from some of the chain’s stores, Burmistrov said.
The press services of Yandex, Cooper and Verny did not respond to Shopper’s requests.
Verny was founded in 2012 by the creator of the Pyaterochka and Karusel networks, Andrey Rogachev. According to Shopper’s, as of July 1, 2024, the retailer operated more than 1.2 thousand stores in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities. In 2023, Union of St. John the Warrior LLC’s revenue amounted to 124 billion rubles (an increase of 6% year-on-year) and net profit – 220 million rubles.
