Roscosmos head Yuri Borisov said that the Russian satellite system, which will be similar to the American Starlink, is guaranteed to start operating by 2030. He stated that in the development of this project, the focus will be on service quality rather than satellite distribution speed.
According to Borisov, the goal is not to break speed records, but to ensure the stable provision of services in the interests of the country’s economy, defense and security. He emphasized that the goal is for Russian users to be able to connect to the satellite communications system by 2030, and possibly earlier than 2028-2029.
Therefore, despite the ambitious plans, the emphasis will be on providing the necessary service volume to ensure that the system meets all requirements before reaching full capacity.
