A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, scheduled to premiere on HBO in 2025 and streaming on Max, is Warner Bros.’ newest bet. Exploration in the Game of Thrones universe. Based on short stories written by George RR Martins, the adaptation will tell the story of a knight traveling through the Seven Kingdoms in search of honor.

Although it moves away from the large halls and battles that left their mark on the series, the new story will also include the presence of important political figures. And even for that, May bring some spoilers for House of the Dragonyears before reaching its closure.

Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will reveal the fate of the Targaryens

Located at an intermediate point between House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones chronology, Seven Knights takes place 77 years after the first event.. This means that although the civil war that ravaged Westeros ended a considerable time ago, many of its consequences, such as the complete extinction of dragons, continue to be felt.

If the adaptation remains faithful to the original work, it should include a lot of dialogue talking about the past and how the accession to the throne under the Targaryens came about. At one point in the stories, the protagonist Dunk tells his friend Egg that there were a total of four Aegons who ruled the kingdom.

At another point, the hero reveals the tragic fate suffered by Rhaenyra during the Dance of the Dragons. Although this was mentioned during the events of Game of Thrones, this statement should now have a stronger impact on the public; after all, most of those who follow House of the Dragon probably haven’t read George RR Martin’s books.

While the stories that make up A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms don’t always specify the exact fate of Targaryen family members, they do contain a lot of information that could be considered “spoilers” for other HBO series. While it is possible to remove these elements from the narrative, doing so can feel awkward, especially during young Egg’s learning moments.

Considering that House of the Dragon is only expected to be finished in 2028 (or even after that), the newest production will have to take great care not to give away any significant elements of its story. Ultimately, this could make your universe less rich, especially considering the importance dragons and their absence have on those living in Westeros.

New series may not care much about the overall context

Although the new series creates some fear of spoilers in the public, the way HBO’s other adaptations are made shows that this situation will not cause concern in their scenarios. Although some adaptations to the original work may be necessary, the production should not eliminate references to the Targaryens and their fate.

Not only does Game of Thrones already have detailed information about the endings of the characters in A Dance with Dragons. Removing this information from the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms would do more harm than good.. After all, much of Ovo’s personal cycle, which involves his desire to bring dragons back to earth, only happens as a result of the stories Dunk tells him.

While indirectly knowing the fates of Rhaenyra, Aegon II, and other major characters may upset some fans, it shouldn’t be something that would bring fear to HBO. After all, as the company invests more and more in adaptations of Martin’s works, “unintentional spoilers” should become very common in them.
