The Central Bank revealed how it will set official exchange rates for the New Year holidays. A message about this was posted on the regulator’s website.

“On the last business day of 2024, December 28, the Bank of Russia will set the official exchange rates of foreign currencies against the ruble for the period from December 29, 2024 to January 9, 2025,” explained the press service of the regulator.

They indicated that on the first business day of 2025, January 9, the Central Bank will set the rates for January 10.

Similarly, the Central Bank will update the discount prices for refined precious metals: on December 28 (for the period from December 29, 2024 to January 9, 2025) and January 9 (for the January 10).

Previously, the Central Bank set the official exchange rates for December 20. The dollar exchange rate was 103.42 rubles, the euro – 107.96 rubles.

Since June 2024, the Bank of Russia sets the exchange rates of the dollar and the euro based on information from bank reports on transactions in the over-the-counter foreign exchange market. Before the introduction of sanctions against the Moscow Stock Exchange, exchange rates were set based on data from the site.

According to the production calendar for 2024, in the last week of December the Russians will work from the 23rd to the 28th inclusive, that is, six days. They will rest from December 29, 2024 to January 8, 2025, for a total of 11 days.
