Packaging and equipment
As with most DEEPCOOL products, the new DEEPCOOL LS520 liquid cooling system comes in a gray cardboard box with a folding paper part.

On the back of the box there is a complete list of technical characteristics in the form of a table, a design of the protection valve against leaks and a fairly detailed description of the technology.
Inside the package, the DEEPCOOL LS520 Liquid Cooling System is assembled in separate cells on a cardboard backing. To protect against dust and moisture, each item is additionally packed in a bag.
The package includes: LSS DEEPCOOL LS520, fans, documentation, universal installation frame, two sets of support bars, a zip bag with a syringe of thermal paste, fixing screws, connection cables and a replacement panel for the cover. the bomb.
Appearance
I suggest starting to get acquainted with the DEEPCOOL LS520 liquid cooling system from the radiator. The radiator itself has a standard shape, it is painted in matte black and is not cluttered with decorative elements.
The heat sink is 282mm long, making it easy to install two 120-size fans. On one of the side faces, closest to the tubes, is a leak protection valve.
The main characteristic of this valve is the presence of a kind of bag inside the system, which regulates the pressure by increasing or decreasing it.
The pipes in the radiator are fixed with straight non-rotating fittings. From the pump side, the fittings are L-shaped and rotatable.
The tubes themselves are protected from external influences by a nylon braid. For convenience, two plastic brackets are installed on the tubes, which allow them to be fixed in parallel.
The presented series is equipped with a completely new pump of the fourth generation. The main mechanism is enclosed in a frusto-square pyramid made of a plastic shell with sloping edges. Unlike the radiator, the pump has a silver screen with a two-tier mirror panel on top.
The glass plate is removable and replaceable with a plastic one from the delivery set. The peculiarity of the cap is that it is made of white translucent plastic, and if necessary, the user can independently apply the necessary print to it, which will then be highlighted, or use ready-made blanks presented on the official website of DEEPCOOL. It is also worth noting that both plates are fixed with a plastic latch, so they are rotatable.
For the period of transportation, the base of the pump is protected by a plastic cover, since thermal paste has been applied to it at the factory. The base contact plate is made of copper plate, which is fixed with 10 screws. In the corners of the pump base there are seats for screws that fix the support bars.
It’s time to take a look at the fans: they have a classic shape, they are equipped with a hydrodynamic bearing, thanks to which the maximum speed of the fan reaches 2250 rpm. Anti-vibration silicone corners are installed in the corners of the frame, absorbing excessive vibrations. The fan impeller is made of white translucent plastic and is equipped with 9 sickle-shaped blades. In the center, as befits fans, is a sticker with the DEEPCOOL logo. On the back of the fan, a similar sticker informs about the fan model FC120(DF1202512CM). The support arches of the central axis are arched and directed in the opposite direction to the air flows.
Let’s move on to the characteristics of the fan: on the side of each fan there is a connector to connect the power cable, so the fans are connected in series. Such features make it possible to reduce the number of laid changes.
Facility
Installing the DEEPCOOL LS520 liquid cooling system is easy. The user manual contains step by step instructions. The first step is to install the fixing bar on the back of the motherboard. After that, you need to decide which support bows fit your processor and fix them on the pump with the screws from the kit. Of course, do not forget that it is necessary to degrease the lid of the processor with products that contain alcohol. The next step is to install the pump and bolt the structure. Then install the radiator on the wall of the box and fix it with screws in the same way. The last step is to mount the fans and connect all the power cables. Everything is ready – use, enjoy.
Backlight
Let’s talk about the backlight – all control of the illuminated elements is carried out through software for motherboards from 6 well-known companies, among them: ASUS, MSI, ASRock, GIGABITE.
The brightness of each element can be easily synchronized with all components or customized to your taste and color. The fans light up bright and quite saturated, the color change is even and smooth. The illuminated pump panel glows softly and not too brightly, making a stylish accent on the pump itself.

This is not the first DEEPCOOL product that has been reviewed. Recently, they have released many interesting and high-quality products. The design of the LSS LS520 is similar to other AIO systems, but it has its own buzz. Interchangeable water block inserts allow you to personalize your PC by customizing the inserts and positioning them at any angle. If desired, this insert can be printed on a 3D printer. Fixing the hoses with plastic clips is a trifle, but it also adds beauty to the installed LSS, since the hoses do not hang in different directions. The presence of a leak protection valve will be another winning point in relation to other models. It is not worth talking about the backlighting or the quality of the materials used and the assembly, everything is well done. As for the test results, DEEPCOO LS520 shows more or less the same results as a good LSS with a 240mm radiator.
