The results of the graphics cards in synthetic tests were as follows. In DaVinci Resolve 18.6 the GTX 980 Ti was almost 2 minutes faster, in Geekbench 6 Vulkan the R9 Fury X was better, in Superposition the 980 Ti was faster (by 15.5%). All measurements are below.
I chose this instead of advertising.
Games launched at 1080p on custom graphics settings. Crysis 3 came with ultra preset and MSAA 4X. Both graphics cards produced around 60-65 fps; The Fury X’s average frame rate was 63 fps, while the 980 Ti’s average frame rate was 64 fps. According to the 1% Low and 0.1% Low results, Fury still maintains his lead.
The average FPS of Far Cry 4 with Ultra graphics and SMAA was 111 fps (980 Ti) and 102 fps (Fury X).
Battlefield 4 launched with the Ultra preset at MSAA 4X. The average was 133 fps (980 Ti) and 111 fps (Fury X).
Witcher 3 tested with high graphics. Unsurprisingly, the 980 Ti took the lead in this game: 78fps versus 84fps on average.
GTA 5 came with MSAA 8X with ultra preset. Performance here averaged 80 fps (980 Ti) and 56 fps (Fury X).
In Quantum Break with ultra graphics, the average FPS was 80 fps (980 Ti) and 58 fps (Fury X).
Watch Dogs 2 was tested at very high graphics settings. Fury X produces 53 fps here, average 980 Ti – 75 fps.
Battlefield 1 came with Ultra graphics, MSAA 4X. It managed to get an average of 103 fps (Fury X) and 113 fps (980 Ti).
In Battlefield V, the GTX 980 Ti also had an advantage: 81 fps versus 84 fps on average.
Tomb Raider (2018) came with a high preset. The average frame rate here was 72fps (Fury) and 84fps (980 Ti).
You can see these and other results in the video below.
The R9 Fury X graphics card performed extremely poorly. Additionally, its support ended in 2022, and Nvidia continues to support previous generations. This is clearly seen in the tests. Most games ran much better on the GTX 980 Ti, but at times the Fury X produced similar results. Overall, victory still went to Nvidia.
