DLSS 4 improves image detail and also increases frame rendering capabilities by allowing up to three interpolated (or “pseudo”) frames compared to the single frame in previous versions.
Testing has shown that DLSS 4 delivers a smoother gaming experience, with high frame rates even exceeding 120 frames per second in ray tracing mode in Cyberpunk 2077. The improvements in image quality and frame rate surprised testers, although they did notice a slight lag, but it still remained within “acceptable limits” for most gamers.
However, the final decision will be made after extensive testing on retail equipment and finalization of drivers.
