The dentist explained that whitening pastes contain abrasive substances for better and effective removal of plaque from tooth enamel. However, this paste is not intended to change tooth color.
A side effect of constant use of whitening pastes is enamel sensitivity.
“The mechanism of action of the whitening paste is not aimed at changing the color of the enamel, but only at the effective removal of plaque from its surface. There is no damage to the enamel. But if its structure is already damaged, hyperesthesia may occur after using whitening pastes – increased sensitivity of the teeth,” said the doctor.
