Ancha Baranova (George Mason University, USA), an international group of scientists, analyzed the largest genetic studies and revealed more than 270 general genetic locuses of 29 unknowns.
The results have shown that the risk of diabetes II was 24% higher and predisposition to emotional disorders – 48%.
Key role was played with inflammation: The increasing activity of the immune system, which is characteristic of depression, contributed to chronic inflammation that violates metabolism.
Scientists believe that approximately 60% of the genetic factors of diabetes overlap with depression.
