“The volume of orders in business is reduced. A surprising example here is the car market where, due to the high rates of loans, sales and cars they fall, and mainly special equipment, agricultural equipment, ”said Reschetnikov.

The voltage of monetary policy, raising the key rate, the growth of macroprudetic requirements led to loan compression: this restricts demand and has a significant impact on investments, added the minister. According to him, now the Team Ministry, together with the Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance, evaluates the volumes and structure of the loans, and also seeks a balance between the containment of inflation and the growth of the economy.

Reschetnikov recalled that, according to the results of 2024, the Russian economy showed growth rates of 4.1%. The head of the Ministry of the Economic Council estimated the potential of economic growth at 3% per year. The Central Bank previously estimated the country’s growth potential from 1.5 to 2.5% per year.

  • On February 14, the Bank of Russia left a key rate at the 21% annual level. He is at a high record level since October. The Central Bank said that “the inflationary pressure remains high”, and the return of inflation to the 4% objectives would take longer than expected. The inflation forecast by 2025 increased the regulator from 4.5 to 5% to 7–8%.
