EDA (Electronic Design Automation) is special programs that help design and improve micro circuits. They simplify the process as much as the last finished chip. In March 2023, Huawei began cooperating with Chinese companies in this field. First, they developed chips in the 14 nm process and then moved to more advanced 7 nm.

5G -supported Kirin 9020 processors have already been used in the new smartphones of Mate 70 and Pura 80 series. Investing in the development of Chinese technologies, Şangay, Beijing and Shenzhen officials have become possible thanks to active financial support.

Huawei also plans to switch to a 5 nm process using its own solutions.
