Why I never switched to Android, I used it often. I’m not even an iPhone fan

I’ve been using Android smartphones for ten years. But one day, after a sufficient update, my flagship began to work slower, glitched and quickly discharged.

Then I bought an iPhone, and since then I have not found any compelling reasons that led to a “green robot”. Not because the “apple” is some kind of revolution, but simply because I am sure that everything will be fine with it and it will not fail in the short term.

Why you can really love Android

Android is actually a good operating system with real advantages that leave the iPhone behind.

Why am I tired of Android

My acquaintance with Apple equipment began not with the iPhone, but with the MacBook Air. At first, I didn’t see the point in overpaying for a smartphone that is not my main gadget. But when I appreciated the use of branded applications like Safari, Notes and Reminders, the thought of buying an iPhone arose. prevail unobtrusively.

The last straw was a sufficient update to my Huawei flagship that disabled it and killed it. The gadget began to slow down and quickly discharge.

More than three years have passed since then. I used the iPhone 13 mini and have never regretted it. No crashes, no overheating, no sudden lags after updates, which, by the way, are really worthwhile, and not in the spirit of “it’s unclear what and why they updated.”

With the release of iOS 26, everything works as smoothly as the day it was purchased. The only thing is that because of the “liquid glass” the battery began to drain a little faster. But this is a trifle against the backdrop of stability and the fact that I use the smartphone for a minimum amount of time.

It can be assumed that since my last Android smartphone the situation has been secure and the device world has been produced from these old devices. sores. Alas, no. Although I use an iPhone based on permanent memory, I also encounter Android devices regularly.

Here are the disadvantages that I still see:

❌ Pre-installed garbage. New smartphones come with a bunch of unnecessary apps, advertising services, and apps that you have to deal with cleaning out.

❌ Long customization. To put a new gadget in order, you need to dig through the menu all evening and turn it off unnecessary.

❌ Processing curves. Each vendor creates its own interface, and the result is often unpredictable. Visually, everything has become more decent over the years, but stability is still lame.

❌ Problems with notifications. One device periodically does not signal about calls, another rings on its own, and in the third mode “Do Not Disturb” lives its life. I have heard about these problems from family and friends over the past couple of weeks.

❌ Crashes, freezes and forced updates with deliberate slowdown. In the first months everything is fast and smooth, but over time the system begins to slow down, applications crash, and “mandatory” updates only worsen the situation.

❌ Advertising in the interface. It seems like you can turn it off, but banners and “tips” still pop up in the most unexpected places. But at least this does not apply to all models.

🤖 Thus, Android often forces the user to be an administrator: to clean, configure and take care of something, especially if the gadget is no longer new.

Why did my bro get an iPhone even though I’m not an Apple fan?

I don’t idolize Apple, because I could easily live on a combination of Android + Windows – and for many years I lived that way. But at one point I realized: Apple technology was configured for my rhythm of work and life. She literally for years It just works – consistently, inexpensively and without surprises. And this is exactly what I need from gadgets most of all.

The iPhone also has disadvantages: a limited file system, an App Store monopoly, regional blocking and an inconvenient library. applications. I would like to see all this fixed someday. But at least the iPhone is cheaper—and its recommendations are easier to live with.

Android smartphones are also developing: they are becoming more beautiful, more powerful, and more technologically advanced. But I just want to use the gadget, and not tinker with the module, not engage in optimization and not be afraid that the phone will become “bricked” after the update.
