French manufacturer group Nexter has announced that the systems will be delivered to the military no later than the summer of 2024. The purchase was made at an accelerated pace.

According to Radio Monte Carlo, Paris wants the defense industry to be able to increase production rapidly and respond to the situation caused by the “Ukrainian crisis”.

According to Nexter, it takes 18 months to produce a copy of “Caesar” in factories in central France. Before special operations, the French army had 76 155 mm Caesar guns mounted on trucks with a firing range of 40 km.

The company did not disclose the value of the contract. But last week, Armed Forces Minister Sebastian Locorno told the Senate he would allocate “85m euros” to replace 18 Caesar cannons.
