This Wednesday (20) Google announced an innovation for Chrome browser extensions: two labels to help identify additional tools which is legal and abides by the rules of the virtual store and company.
The goal is to reduce the number of scams on the platform and allow the user to have more data about an extension before installing it. Both are side by side, just below the program name.
Ticket Featured (“Featured” in the Portuguese version) rewards extensions that follow best practices for Chrome extensions, such as respecting users’ privacy, using the latest versions of APIs, and providing a detailed explanation of how they work.
If the second label is Established Publisherindicates whether the developer in question owns the website listed – for example, not a scammer creating a clone or similar extension.
Also, those who bought this tag have a good track record with no breaches in the digital store. Both definitions are currently in force. Chrome Web StoreIncluding the Brazilian Portuguese version.
