The Ministry of Industry and Trade has prepared a draft resolution on clothing labeling in Russia since June 2023. Now fur coats and shoes fall under the label, while all other light industry products do not. .
Starting next year, it is proposed to label tracksuits, jackets, pants, blouses, shirts, outerwear and faux fur products, Izvestia learned.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce reported that the market faces the problem of the illegal circulation of light industry products. For example, importers import natural fur disguised as synthetic fur, a trade market source explained.
The department emphasized that the Russian Union of Clothing Manufacturers, the Association of Retail Enterprises, Lamoda, Sportmaster, Snow Queen approved the labeling of clothing.
It will be enough for buyers to scan the code and understand whether the product in front of them is genuine or fake, and not to remember the distinctive features of branded items or products.
