Russians refuse to buy smartphones from well-known brands in favor of the Chinese: survey

Smartphones from Chinese manufacturers are now chosen by 41% of Russians, 19% have refused to buy devices from familiar brands, according to a survey conducted by the Calltouch service. Every tenth respondent began to pay attention to smartphones from unknown manufacturers.

“For the moment, retailers – gadget sales platforms – have been held back by the situation of uncertainty and falling demand from buyers. Analysts register a record drop in sales in the second quarter of 2022”, said Artur Sargsyan, commercial director of Calltouch.

After the start of the special operation in Ukraine, 35% of respondents began to buy used smartphones, 9% ordered devices from abroad. The sanctions have led one in three Russians to put off buying a smartphone until the economic situation stabilizes, the survey showed.
