The main change to the base iPhone models was the company’s rejection of compact devices. Thus, in 2022, instead of the iPhone 14 mini, the iPhone 14 Plus saw the light. The last time the Plus version hit the shelves in 2017, at the same time as the iPhone X’s announcement, it was the iPhone 8 Plus.
At the same time, both the regular iPhone 14 and its enlarged version received last year’s Apple A15 Bionic processor. Also the design remained unchanged – it still uses the explosions, in which Face ID is hidden. The change mainly affected the camera and its ability to shoot in low light conditions.
All in all, the most sensible option to buy between the two models would be the iPhone 14 Plus, as it’s a relatively inexpensive oversized iPhone.
At the same time, of course, if you have the financial ability and desire, an even more worthy option will be one of the Pro models of the new line – iPhone 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max.
Top-of-the-line hardware is already used here, and for the first time in the series, a 48-megapixel main camera module is used. It’s also important to note that high-end iPhones are getting a new cut for Face ID, which Apple calls itself a “Dynamic Island.”
