Western publications presented reviews of the 2nd generation AirPods Pro the day before the start of headphone sales.

Journalists have praised the AirPods Pro update as Apple has lost almost all features and added new features.

1. Edge

The same look, everything is better than the rest.

Apple has left the overall design and fit largely unchanged. The new AirPods Pro look just like their protectors. If you look at first, then this is the same AirPods Pro as before.

Instead of reinventing its wireless earbuds, Apple has focused on improving everything that has already proven its gaming success. AirPods Pro second generation sound better. Their active noise reduction by cars. Now you can adjust the volume directly on the headphones. The charging case has a built-in speaker and its highlight feature, which makes the search stand out. Battery life is also slightly longer than before. For Apple fans, these changes are exciting, even if the look is already dated.

There are a few visual differences between the first and second generation AirPods, but they are very subtle. Some microphones and sensors have been moved and one of the microphones is now concave. Without a case to hand, that little grille is the only sign you’re holding 2022 headphones.

The new AirPods Pro are called by the same skin detection sensor as the 3rd generation AirPods. Therefore, the ears pause faster when you pull them out of your ears.

The biggest change to the AirPods Pro design is the addition of inline volume controls. You can decrease the volume by swiping up or down on the touch sensor. This works on any listener and you hear a small click in that ear when you adjust the volume. I have yet to accidentally pause or release a track while consuming volume, which usually happens with gestures on other headphones.

The case now has a notch for the cord, which is attached on the right side. It’s not included and Apple doesn’t manufacture it in-house. Instead, the company sells the $12 Incase strap, which I’ve been using for a few days. I fixed it on the backpack, the case never opened in a suspended state.

2. Engadget

Don’t let the familiar design fool you, it’s a constant upgrade.

Apple says the new H2 chip not only offers improved sound quality and noise cancellation, but also supports new features like Adaptive Transparency.

This function blocks loud sounds (sirens, jackhammers) in Transparency without switching Noise suppression. In reality, AirPods Pro allow you to hear these sounds, but their volume is noticeable.

AirPods Pro 2 audio quality Apple doesn’t know when music was expected to sound better at full volume.

The sound at normal volume is also better, with more depth, clarity and a wider soundstage, for a better listening experience.

I should also mention the mode Transparency. AirPods Pro bring the most natural sound when side noise is cut off.

You can keep them on even during a call. You’ll notice the AirPods Pro when you lose your speech because your ears are plugged and that’s it. This is the best mode Transparencywhich is in wireless headphones, and the nearest competitor is still far behind.

In terms of battery life, Apple says you can expect up to 6 hours with noise cancellation enabled and 7 hours without it. During my tests, headphones with noise canceling turned on ran out of power in 6 hours and 15 minutes. This is more than a generation (4.5 hours), and at the level of most representatives today.

3. Technical crisis

They are expensive, but you don’t take them out of your ears.

The AirPods Pro hold up well while walking and running, although I did have to adjust them a bit to keep them securely in place when the sweat started leaking. If you use your headphones primarily for workouts, you might want to consider the Beats Fit Pro.

I protested against noise cancellation when I flew in from Apple’s September 7th presentation. As soon as the headphones are securely fixed, there is an almost vacuum effect, when the noise is present, it disappears, but not completely.

For the money, Apple offers great sound for music and podcasts. The balance is excellent, the sound is clear, there are no strongly prominent basses that are in other headphones, but the bottoms are still striking.

AirPods Pro 2 has a personalized audio compartment. The process for setting up this feature is similar to Face ID: you need to scan your face and ears. After that, Apple changed the rules for handling audio with your head.

The most welcome change might be the speaker on the charging case. It emits an audible signal to start charging and appear. Its most useful feature is the ability to turn on the sound while searching for a case.

Overall, the new AirPods Pro are excellent. The $249 price tag may seem a little high, but these headphones will last you for years to come.
