French app BeReal entered the snapshot market dominated by Instagram and TikTok in 2020, betting on unfiltered photos taken randomly once a day.
The social network allows you to spend less time on the mobile phone and allows you to follow the daily lives of your friends even in your spare time. The app also offers the RealEmoji feature that lets you take a photo by simulating an emoticon.
The app boom occurred at the beginning of 2022, with the mass adhesion of Gen Z. The potential for growth is huge. The Chinese app alone has one billion active users around the world, and Meta’s social network has 1.45 billion, of which 115 million are in Brazil.
However, to catch up with industry leaders, BeReal needs to accelerate the growth of its users. according to the survey speechIn the last 28 days, Chinese Kwai has been downloaded 12.3 million times, TikTok 14.39 million times and Instagram 22.25 million times.

The Orbit Data Science initiative qualitatively analyzed 672 randomly selected posts and comments posted on Twitter, YouTube and Instagram in the last six months to find out if BeReal is accepted in Brazil.
Most of the comments (over 70%) were about joining the new platform. Half of these posts referred to active users or users wanting to join BeReal, while the fifth referred to searching for acquaintances using the app.
The dynamics of the application were questioned by users. There were reports of her being uncomfortable not being able to post photos at certain times of the day, as well as requesting photos at inappropriate times, such as in the bathroom or at a business meeting.
