R$6,000 compensation will be paid to a former employee of a company located in the municipality of Patos de Minas in Minas Gerais. after revealing personal WhatsApp conversations by the owner of the company he works for.

According to the information released by the Minas Gerais District Labor Court, the woman was fired and forgot to log out of her WhatsApp Web account. The interviews were transferred by the owner of the company to other employees at a meeting.

Apparently, the partner with access to WhatsApp read the victim’s exchange of messages with another employee of the company. At one point the two talked about the partner’s alleged extramarital affair with another employee.

Upon his conviction in the first instance, the company appealed, but his request was denied. “Even if the rumors spread were to be condemned, private conversations could never have been disclosed to third parties, especially in the crude and explosive manner in which they occurred. The whole situation could have been handled more discreetly and respectfully,” said the reporting judge, Leonardo Passos Ferreira.
