Deliveries of new iPhones will be delayed due to coronavirus restrictions at Foxconn’s manufacturing plant in China. Earlier it became known about the reduction in the release of Apple smartphones due to low demand.

New iPhone shipments delayed due to coronavirus restrictions at Foxconn factory

Apple warned of delays in the supply of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The company cited a decline in its production capacity: The world’s largest iPhone assembly plant in Zhengzhou, China, was transferred to a special mode of operation due to coronavirus restrictions.

In September, the Foxconn plant, which employs 300,000 people, began detecting cases of COVID-19 infection, after which coronavirus restrictions were introduced there. The plant is currently operating at “significantly reduced capacity,” Apple said.

Previously, Reuters reported that the production of new iPhones will be reduced due to low demand. The company expects to launch at least 3 million fewer devices than planned. However, in a statement, Apple said it’s seeing “still strong” demand for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
