According to O’Donnell, 5 drinks per month increases the risk of ischemic stroke by 29% and hemorrhagic stroke by 76%. Overall, people who drink are 14% more likely to have a stroke.
It is stated that 5 servings of alcohol are 5 glasses of vodka or other strong alcohol, 2.5 liters of beer or half a bottle of wine. But avoiding alcohol also reduces the risk of stroke.
