Mark Zuckerberg’s letter addressed to Meta employees (the company’s activities are recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation) is posted on the corporation’s website. In it, Zuckerberg says “this is a sad time” and takes full responsibility for the event.

Meta will lay off 11,000 employees out of a total of 87,000. Thus, the corporation’s staff will be reduced by 13%. All laid off employees will receive cash compensation for 16 weeks of work, they and their families will receive health insurance for 6 months and other severance pay.

Given the news of the mass layoffs in Meta, the company’s shares rose on the Nasdaq. In the pre-trade period, quotes increased by 4.36%.
