It can’t cost that much. Review of the first laptop TECNO MEGABOOK T1

We have released several reviews on TECNO smartphones; the company has been in Russia for at least two years. The quality of the brand is enhanced in Russia by price and quality and seems to have a margin of safety for portfolio expansion.

Today we will look at TECNO MEGABOOK T1. A lightweight 15.6-inch laptop with a classic look that has all of its features a cut above the amounts that are asked for it.

It’s probably easiest to describe it as good computer with “good” in the meaning of “compliant”. All observations show that TECNO did not deliver on ridiculous solutions, but on request, everything you need at an adequate price tag.

Below I figured out whether a portable computer could be something else or you shouldn’t look for a second bottom here – enough that the debut device was that it was necessary to bring pleasure in price-quality.

Classic design with character

No one forbids mimicking a legend, and it’s not necessary. In the year that Apple ditched all beveled bevels in the MacBook Air, replacing them with “boxing”, TECNO took the lead.

Not only is the NEGABOOK T1 a light case, but it also looks like it. Successful “aerodynamic” look and strict features no color frills will attract attention even in a cafe, even at home.

For lovers of variety, there are four neat monochrome colors in the pastel spectrum to choose from. Are called star dust, roman mint, Violet Monet and champagnein English it is gray, green, purple (my choice) and golden.

The weight is excellent. For 15.6 inch laptop 1.48 kg and 1.48 cm it’s a success. I suffered with my 2018 MBP weighing under two kilograms with the same diagonal, and here the back with a lightweight backpack will say “thank you”.

Thanks even more backs and arms for the lightest 65W power supply right out of the box, made with GaN technology. I put it in my bag and didn’t notice.

And, yes, 80% of the time, the inscription MEGABOOK with a fence on the back of the display hidesthanks to the refraction of light. It turns out just stripes in the style of techno-retro. The only unexpected accent in the calm, restrained design of the laptop.

Ports were showered generously

Fortunately or unfortunately, the violent trend on One port doesn’t fit everything. Well, manufacturers of monitors, flash drives and headphones have not caught up, they are satisfied with HDMI, USB-A and mini-Jack.

On this flexibility does not end. The laptop can literally be bent 180 degrees, simply because. The biggest plus in this I see is that there is no need to be afraid for damage to the screen cables, which is what Apple devices suffered from. Do not be afraid to look too strong, to break something superfluous.

The MEGABOOK T1 has the same body as all other musicians in terms of dimensions, but due to the transfer of the speakers in the return part, a full-size keyboard with a NumPad panel fit here. I always behind such a solution, because many buttons in programs are associated with PgUp and PgDn, without them it can be difficult.

The battery has a built-in fingerprint sensor. One of the little things that make every launch smoother.

The sound, by the way, did not return. On your budget, music plays unexpectedly, cleanly, movies play and games also without stumbling.

Finally, in his advertising campaign, emphasis on sharp things. Not “we have 81% of the screen”, but “look at these correct colors”.

MEGABOOK T1 uses 100% sRGB space coverage and is TÜV certified. The latter means that LCD panels have reduced flicker and to the point where it is more comfortable for the eyes to be in front of a long time. Not 24 hours a day, of course, but it’s less likely to close a laptop with red squirrels.

The color options carry over so that you can see all the hues that are used in most web content. It also gives you the peace of mind to be able to see a) the content the way you think it is and b) show the content the way you understood it. Most budget laptops do not reach the indicator and do not allow, for example, to edit photos or videos in terms of processes as correctly as possible.

These details did not harm the appearance. The frames here are products, but a webcam with a 720p infection hid in the top anyway. By the way, she has a curtain for fans of mechanics to close access to the laptop’s eye. The patch is no longer needed.

The brightness of an honest 350 nits is on the bar of the established standard, but it goes. This is where she stands out. It’s better than finding out 500 nits, like many people, but actually getting the same 350 nits.

Two processors for everything

It costs 5 times cheaper than a MacBook, and GTA 5 is on. What else is there to say?

MEGABOOK T1 gives out a balanced middle peasant to all manners. It’s fat but not a tablet, fast clocked but compact for a backpack, with Intel Core i3-1005G1 and i5-1035G7 processors. These are chips specifically for student-office level fixtures. Not weaklings, not monsters.

The i3 model comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB SSD storage. The i5 will come with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB. For a moment, there is no processor, as in the MacBook Pro for more than 200 thousand.

Nothing else is mentioned, just the chip and memory. The right decision is to know exactly what level of power you are taking: cheap and stricter or a little more free on resources.

Both wish to be happy to have enough when you need to work in documents, spreadsheets, watch movies, have fun, process photos. For installation, you already have to go by the trick. work in final preview resolution and video rendering wait time; but even such a serious thing MEGABOOK T1 will pull, it will not be difficult to seriously make a project in 1080p resolution. The difference is only in the volume, the number of documents, spreadsheets and videos at a time that you can use.

When the load begins to draw in, active cooling is turned on. It is there and noticed, but it does not look like the rumble of an airplane taking off. The cooler spins quietly, blows air and does not interfere with anyone. The chips are generally energy efficient, they do not get very hot.

TECNO operates on a business hour of 17.5 hours. with battery 70 W and far from gluttonous processors, this is a reality, but if the screen is at the preferred level, this is how the box of tests is most often found.

it lasts up to a day and a half of work, if it includes mail, Word and presentations, a little Photoshop.

Installing a single battery of any laptop will not take out so much time, also games. In these scenarios, expect no more than five hours from a brand new battery.

Linking price-quality decides

I’m not sure that TECNO will earn at least some money on the allowed MEGABOOK T1. I assume that this is such a PR release of the line, proof that the company “can”.

The cost of components alone is certainly close to the price of a laptop: with Core i3 and i5 chips, official Windows 11 Home, a metal case, with 16 GB of RAM and related accessories from display to display. For 40,000 rubles, this may not be a gift, but for sure an appetizing offer worth thinking about.

It’s also not a gamer’s dream, but, again, the right release for a much wider audience of telecommuters, students who want to buy a family laptop for everything. Especially now, when many manufacturers from Russia have left, but to find something with an official guarantee, without suspicious imports and for good desirable money.
