Researchers at Columbia University have decided what minimum activity is needed to offset the negative effects of sedentary work. For this, volunteers were invited, who were invited to meet for 8 hours a day, sometimes with short breaks for going to the toilet. Then the mode of “work” is changed due to the number of breaks and their duration.

Experimentally, it was found that the “dose of activity” is 5-minute walks, taken after about 30 minutes throughout the working day. When testers followed this strategy, they had a high frequency (by 60%) of their blood sugar levels, and their blood pressure tended towards normal levels. Scientists also note that this frequency of hiking improves mental and emotional levels. People report less fatigue and radiant moods than with the old experience of alternating work and away.
