In the spring of 2018, graduate students at the Stanford Graduate School of Business learned that people who communicate information orally rather than in writing tend to perceive people as smarter and more competent. Scientists wondered if the same was true for recommendations.

In a number of studies, authors have found that audio recommendations for products such as cakes and beer are more effective than text recommendations.
