This is a new project of Kinopoisk on profitable books by Boris Akunin. However, the authors decided to rethink the original idea and perception of action in the modern world.

Sherlock in a new way
Before us is another detective story with not the most thoughtful plot.
What is the series about: alternative reality of the 21st century, Petrograd, the heyday of the Romanov era. Nicholas III is at the head of the state. 20-year-old investigator Erast Fandorin appears at the police investigation department. He is engaged in not the most interesting work, until a close strange case is riveted to him: the owner of an oil pipeline company, a young millionaire, shoots himself in the temple in the center of the capital on suspicion of the appearance of people and a policeman robot.
Studying the video, Fandorin comes to the parish, which did not happen before him. He finds more and more new streets, eventually getting on the trail of a dangerous organization.
The structure is fairly simple and mundane for a general film genre. We have some kind of conclusion that contains recovery data during the series, and then the answers come. The only problem is that you will not learn the answer to the question from the content of the series. That is, there are no “Chekhov guns” on display in the episode, which will subsequently fire.
Judging by the first series, the authors do not revise, even if they convey a little to the viewer of the main plot. You didn’t get answers to many questions, and in the final you didn’t catch what the solution to the problem was, because the answer was literally made up of new facts that you hadn’t seen before.
The story is extremely sloppy.we actually know one character, but even he doesn’t have enough screen time to get into them.
Don’t expect plot twists or anything in common here. The authors of the check will not surprise you, they only work out the budget. This is completely mediocre.

Actors do not recreate any other images, but take images from other projects. In particular, we are talking about the main persons met by the performers Vladislav Tiron and Maxim Matveev. They both came from Trigger, and I see the same people in them: one formidable and experienced man with separate parts in his head, the second, slightly withdrawn, but at the same time stubborn guy. They played people in the last series, they do it here.
The love line is also read from the first frames. To avoid spoilers, I won’t be specific. However, I am sure that you will immediately catch what it is about when the viewing stops. And although now it is not being developed, it is visible to the naked eye.
The series itself is catastrophic lack of charisma. It’s literally impossible to get hold of anyone here. All the characters are mediocre and completely unmemorable.
The only one who draws even a little attention to himself is the main villain. But this is not the merit of the writers, he just looked spectacular and unusual. It’s too early to tell how interesting he is on his own, we’ll see that in the next 5 episodes.
Petersburg, what happened to you
The authors decided to completely transform the appearance of St. Petersburg. However, they did not seem to think about how concisely these innovations would look.
Stalinist skyscrapers and modified houses are not planned corny to the general style of the city. Who and why decided to transform the northern capital in this way is hard to say. Obviously, the creators wanted to see an unusual reality in this way, but they did not observe as they thought. “Backs” completely unnatural. Remember the pixel games from the late 90s with their houses drawn somewhere far away? Here is exactly the same feeling.
And I generally keep quiet about the prographic execution. We live in 21 studies where technology has already advanced greatly. I have only one question – why does the suicide blood look like lentils?
The costumes and decorations in the interior decor were really well received here. Everything looks expensive and authentic. It’s nice to look at this, you can see a detailed approach that is not in most of the episode.
It is very strange why the authors decided not to bother with the actors themselves. After all, the cast is a success here. They say that it is so hard only in the first series, and then the authors reveal and reveal the most important objects, and the plot in general. We’ll see, but it’s still hard to believe.
While everything is bad
So far, the opinion about the series is just that. If the director and screenwriters reveal their potential, then the opinion may change.
However, at present, the novelty looks like it passed right after watching the first episode. She absolutely cannot attract attention and flounders in her own swamp from a slurred script, weak acting and strange scenery.
