There are numerous posts on Reddit and the Apple Support site complaining about connection issues between Apple TV and Siri Remote. Most likely, problems only arise with the new Siri Remote with USB-C.
Users claim that Siri Remote regularly disconnects from Apple TV without any pattern or explanation. For some, the Siri Remote shuts down while something is playing on the Apple TV, usually a few minutes after starting it up.
The problems started in November last year. Since then, Apple has released several updates for tvOS 16. However, none of these updates have successfully resolved these issues. Twitter user @aaronp613 noted that the USB-C Siri Remote has not received a firmware update since its debut in November.
