The foldable smartphone market recorded an impressive 14.2 million shipments in 2022. Samsung has been the clear leader with just under 12 million foldable devices shipped. Other players in the market such as Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi and Honor sold less than a million foldable smartphones in the same period.

Looking ahead, foldable device shipments are predicted to double to an impressive 30 million by 2023. Samsung has set a goal of shipping a total of 15 million units of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.
