According to scientists from Swansea University, reducing the use of social networks by just 15 minutes a day can have a beneficial effect on a person’s overall health and immune function. It will also reduce feelings of loneliness and symptoms of depression.
For a month, a team of scientists tracked the impact of reducing time spent on social networks on people’s mental and physical health in a new study.
Participants’ results were compared with those of those who did not reduce their social network use by 15 minutes. Those who spent an average of 15 minutes less time on social networks improved their immune function by an average of 15% (plus they had fewer colds, flu, warts), improved sleep quality by 50%, and reduced symptoms of depression by 30%.
