With the help of a nozzle-shaped applicator on a syringe, medications can be administered painlessly. Thanks to the system, the consumption of antigen and the cost of a dose when administering vaccines are reduced by 3 to 5 times.

The creators of the Skinport system are graduates of Sechenov University, Skoltech professors and entrepreneurs. With their development, they reached the final of the Sechenov Tech accelerator for startups in the field of biotechnology and medical technology.

At the heart of the drug delivery system is a silicone microneedle applicator. They don’t touch blood vessels or nerve endings, so vaccines and medications can be given painlessly.

Using the system allows you to more accurately calculate the dose of the drug and the depth of penetration of the needle. In addition, the consumption of antigen and the cost of the dose are reduced by 3 to 5 times.

“The patent for the technology has already been obtained, now we are looking for an industrial partner. Since the project is Russian, there is no dependence on imports,” said the authors of the project.

The applicator can be used in pediatrics, endocrinology, dermatology, cosmetology and other areas, but in a first stage the system will be implemented in hospitals.

The Skinport system is a completely Russian development and is being tested. The developers hope that the distribution of their product will, among other things, reduce the incidence of viral infections and take a step forward in the development of cosmetology.
