Voters in Paraná received mass messages via WhatsApp in favor of the pre-candidate of the state government Cesar Silvestri Filho (PSDB). According to the newspaper World This g1At least two user accounts have been banned from the platform.

The report, published by columnist Lauro Jardim, reveals that the PSDB’s advertising video for inclusion on radio and television was sent to two phone numbers in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. However, the recommendation of the preliminary candidate denied responsibility for the shooting and said that he did not know about the contacts.

The Federal Public Ministry (MPF) District Election Prosecutor’s Office has been contacted regarding the report, but has yet to receive a response.

The Supreme Election Court (TSE) finds it illegal to send mass messages with electoral content without the consent of the recipient. The app for WhatsApp violates the terms of the platform and users must report the responsible accounts.

WhatsApp confirmed that accounts that took the shot, as well as other accounts with similar behavior, were banned. “Soon, it will be possible to report such suspicious accounts regarding mass shootings directly through the reporting platform developed in partnership with WhatsApp and TSE,” the company said in a statement.
