Writing for The New York Times, FTC Chairman Lina Khan highlighted the risks of artificial intelligence expansion, including market dominance by big tech companies, collusion and an increase in fraud and privacy breaches.
Citing the advent of the “Web 2.0” era in the mid-2000s as an example, Khan warned of the potential development of surveillance and the loss of user privacy. He believes that government officials now need to ensure that history does not repeat itself with artificial intelligence without excessively limiting innovation.
