In a new study, experts assessed people’s cardiovascular health by dots. And the highest rates were among those who lived 9-10 years longer on average.
Eight factors should be considered to prevent heart disease. These are quitting tobacco, physical activity, healthy diet, adequate and quality sleep, control of body weight, blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
The factors that have the strongest impact on people’s life expectancy are sleep, physical activity, tobacco use, and blood sugar levels.
Overall, the highest scorers lived an average of 8.9 years at age 50. Non-smokers lived 7.4 years longer than smokers, and people who got the recommended amount of sleep per day lived five years longer.
Those who exercised the most lived 4.6 years longer, those who had the best blood sugar control (4.9 years longer).
