“We are fighting against shopaholics”: Bakalchuk explained the paid return of products to Wildberries

Wildberries introduced a paid return of goods to the market to combat shopaholics. The founder of the company, Tatiana Bakalchuk, spoke about this at the Eurasian Economic Forum, reports RBC.

The measure introduced by the market is not aimed at “normal” buyers, Bakalchuk said. He also reminded that you can return products of inadequate quality on the market for free.

Wildberries is developing a tool that allows it to return money for products to customers immediately, the company founder said.

Previously, Wildberries said that paid return of goods allows Wildberries to offset businessmen’s costs for return transportation, giving sellers the opportunity to set competitive prices.

In April, the Podolsky city court found it illegal for Wildberries to require buyers to pay for the return of defective products. Rospotrebnadzor filed a lawsuit against the company in early March.
