More than a month after its launch in China, OnePlus unveiled OnePlus 12, their new flagship that aims to carve out a niche in the very premium range and therefore compete with the likes of the Galaxy S24 Ultra or the iPhone 15 Pro Max. It also has a significantly lower price compared to flagship phones from Samsung and Apple. At the same time, the company presented OnePlus 12RA more affordable smartphone, but it doesn’t skimp on features.

The OnePlus 12 is a very consistent mobile phone in terms of design. It is essentially identical to its predecessor, the OnePlus 11, with the difference being PV module larger, since it contains new sensors. However, it retains its round shape and continues to sit on one side of the back panel, giving the appearance of the module protruding from one of the edges.

The front of the OnePlus 12 is also identical to the front of the Oneplus 11. However, we see some very interesting improvements on the screen. OnePlus 12 has BOE X1 6.82-inch AMOLED panel. It has QHD+ resolution as well as an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Panel brightness can also peak up to 4500 nits; This is quite a large amount, much higher than any other smartphone. For a quick comparison, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has a brightness of 2,600 nits. On the other hand, the iPhone 15 Pro has a brightness of up to 2000 nits.

The OnePlus 12 comes with the latest from Qualcomm and a new telephoto lens.

Such high brightness can mean more battery drain, so the OnePlus 12 5400 mAh (400 mAh more than its predecessor). There is also 100W fast charging. In terms of performance, the OnePlus 12 includes a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which is accompanied by 12, 16 or 24 GB of RAM, and 256, 512 or 1 TB of internal storage.

Although the cameras are not the same as the OnePlus 11, the Asian company has reused sensors from its other smartphones, particularly the OnePlus Open foldable mobile phone. This is the case of the corner camera, the main one, which is Sony LYT-808 sensor with a resolution of 48 megapixels.

The OnePlus 12 also features a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a new telephoto lens. OmniVision OV64B 64 megapixels, which is capable of taking photos with 3x optical zoom. Of course, OnePlus 12 has a collaboration with Hasselblad, which offers algorithm improvements and additional modes such as portrait.

In addition to OnePlus 12, the company presented OnePlus 12Rwho is part of a family that has not yet left China and India.

The OnePlus 12R has a very similar design to its big brother, although it is slightly more compact as it features a 6.78-inch panel. In this case also with an adaptive frequency of 120 Hz. OnePlus 12R, on the other hand, includes Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with 16 GB RAM, as well as built-in storage of 256 GB. Its battery also has a capacity of 5400 mAh and supports 100W charging.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 12R has a 50-megapixel main camera. This is a sensor Sony IMX890. The smartphone is also equipped with two additional cameras, although the company did not disclose details about this.

Price and availability of new OnePlus phones

We repeat that both OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12 Pro will be available in Spain. Users can now buy the OnePlus 12, which goes on sale 969 euros. Later on February 5th, OnePlus 12R will be available for purchase at 699 euros. This is a very attractive price considering that it has the same specifications as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which is affordable 1479 euros, as well as the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which sells for 1,469 euros.

The company also presented OnePlus Buds 3headphones with active noise cancellation and up to 10 hours of battery life for 99 euros.
