From now on, we will no longer need to hold down someone else’s message in order for the emoji menu to appear, allowing us to react. From now on the same thing will happen when we do two quick presses about text, audio or any other file that we receive in an individual or group conversation.
But the question doesn’t end there. WhatsApp has also decided to change the order of the emojis we use to react, so it will start showing us the ones we use. more often in a panel that previously contained default choices such as thumbs up, heart, or praying hands.
While the latter may seem like a minor addition, it is very useful for those who are used to using non-traditional emojis and no longer want look for them manual method by directly interacting with the message.
WhatsApp introduces more options for filters and stickers
In addition to improving responsiveness, WhatsApp announced new features related to filters and stickers. For the former, the app will now let you choose between 30 different options when taking a photo or recording a video directly from the chat it’s sent to. These are the same effects that debuted in 2024 in video calls through the platform.
Another feature that debuts on WhatsApp allows create stickers from selfies taken at the moment. If you want to immortalize what you’re doing with a sticker, you just need to go to the chat stickers menu, click Create and select the Camera option. So you can take a photo and the app will automatically convert it into a sticker that you can share in your replies. It’s worth clarifying that this tool is currently only available on Android, and will appear on iPhone later.
Finally, WhatsApp now allows you to share sticker packs with your contacts directly through chat. A very simple way to send stickers to someone who would really benefit from them.
